You can’t put them all on the wall or in an expensive album, but you know you want to print them and look at them often. That is why I love proof boxes. Your photos are stored in a beautiful linen box just ready for you to touch and reminisce at any time you want. Not only do I buy these for my clients, but I have purchased them for family and for myself! They are also included in EVERY wedding package I offer.
I love going back through images from the season and remembering what amazing weddings I’ve photographed this year. I am putting the finishing touches on Melanie and Chad’s wedding and just had to share these. I just LOVED her color choice…bright, beautiful green. After a season of rustic style weddings with muted colors, it was great to see this stunning pop of color against the fading leaves of fall.

The ceremony took place in gorgeous Cape Elizabeth…the church, now a historical monument, was bright and beautiful and filled with all of the people Melanie and Chad loved.

….loved this bridal party….

Craig and Emmy’s wedding took place at the Asticou Inn in Northwest Harbor…I have been to Mount Desert Island several times this season and I have said before, it is one of my favorite places. In fact, in my dream wedding, I would probably get married there too!

From family to friends, everyone involved in the wedding weekend was just so amazing. And you could tell just from the conversation among the guests at the ceremony that Emmy and Craig had so many people that loved them and wanted to share in the joy of the special day.

I loved the heavy, warm mist that settled over the Azalea Gardens across the street from the Asitcou.

I love receptions where these is a great mix of emotional moments and fun ones.

and there was a LOT of fun…Shane Ellis and his band had everyone dancing the night away on the back porch.

I have been an editing mad woman these past few weeks….I was only going to share a few of these images from Josh and Caitlin’s wedding but I couldn’t resist sharing SOOOO many more.

I just love classic weddings. People often remark that I have a lot of the rustic, outdoor weddings, and I love those as well. But deep down I am a classic girl personally and those long aisles and flowing veils just really appeal to me. I have to add that Caitlin SANG at her own wedding so beautifully that there wasn’t a dry eye in the church.

The wedding party was SO much fun, and we met at one of my favorite spots for photographs!

I just LOVE these dancing pictures…such a fun group!

So many of us who live in Maine have special and happy memories in Bar Harbor. When Elise and Lou described their Mount Desert Wedding plans, I couldn’t help but get excited. There are certain weddings you just feel at home with…this wedding was just like that. It wasn’t just the place, but the people involved…the details…the personalization and care…and of course, the couple.

I have to say a word about these arrangements because ever since I saw them, I have been going back and looking at them on a weekly basis for inspiration….Elise’s aunt and uncle GREW these for her, and then arranged them. Those little wrappers around the bouquets are birch bark. BIRCH BARK!!! I love the colors…the styling…all so perfect.

The ceremony took place at a public park overlooking the water. They wrote their own vows. . . Elise’s uncle (same uncle who grew the flowers!) married them….and it was amazing. And I couldn’t hold back tears either.

The wedding party was a mix of family and friends, and friends that had become family and family that had become friends. And the cutest baby niece ever.

The reception was held in an old school house in Hulls Cove. Floor to ceiling windows, authentic lighting features, and the same chalk boards and charm that were built in 1909, make it a photographers dream.

People frequently ask me how I choose my wedding clients. I tell them that my choice always depends on what they are serving at the reception because I am a self diagnosed food addict. I jest…kind of. But if I had to just go by food and not how much I fell in love with this couple, I would have been all set at this wedding anyway. These cupcakes…literally the BEST cupcakes I have ever tasted in MY LIFE. I have eaten a lot of cupcakes, folks, so I feel confident in referring to myself as an expert. I hardly ever go for seconds for fear of embarrassing myself completely…I may or may have had 3 of these. I feel no guilt, and if anyone didn’t get a cupcake because of me….I wish I could say that I was sorry.

The evening was filled with more fun and dancing, and I left feeling not the least bit exhausted, but with a filled heart and content state of spirit by being with such an amazing couple, and all of their great friends and family.
