this summer has brought a bountiful baby boom that i can barely keep up with! this is not a complaint…this is one photographer in heaven. i met little Simon and his family a few weeks ago when he was only a couple of weeks old and we had an amazingly peaceful session.

oh baby! i love babies. it seems as if we have been hit with a baby boom up here in New England in the last 6 months or so, and i feel so blessed to be doing this job just so i can see a few of them. i met up with Emilie and her mom and dad this weekend for her newborn session and she was all smiles. she must have had a very, very good nights rest…she was certainly ready for her photo shoot!

i just love sweet baby lips…

sigh…sweet baby perfection.

i could photograph newborn babies all day. there is something so completely special and unique about every, single one of them…and Ben is no exception. he is probably the most relaxed baby, and that personality shines through even when he isn’t sleeping.

have i mentioned today how much i my job….

dear client, perspective client, blog reader, friend, passer-by….human being;

love always. me.

it’s not what you wear that is important to your session….it’s not your shoes….your make up. it’s you. fabulous, wonderful, perfect in non-perfect form…you.

that is expecting a lot though, isn’t it? being you?

i find children facinating because they are comfortable in their own self. that is what led me most to photographing children. their honesty. if they are sad, you know. if they are happy, you know. if they want a piece of cake, you know.

i know i ask a lot of adults when they come to me and i tell them to show their love in front of the camera. it IS difficult to forget those inhibitions that are painted on like layers as we move through our lives. i have them too. actually, i have them all. haha.

but maybe, just maybe, if you know what inspires me most in the whole wide world is YOU, that will make it a bit easier.

{and yes, if being you is wearing your old pair of roller skates and barreling through the Old Port, that is completely okay}

and this is good stuff…you should watch it.

truth. the next best thing to having your own baby is getting to be around them all the time. truth. it still isn’t easy to leave at the end of the session. and little Owen was so preciously perfect it made my depart bitter sweet. at almost 2 weeks old, he was the perfect little sleeper. i was mesmerized by his long toes and fingers, and how every little baby noise he was simply amazing {you know those sweet little semi-sleeping squeaks…sigh}. we had an awesome session and i just could not help but share a few this monday morning.

on a business note, my newborn casting call is currently full and i can’t thank those of you enough who have participated, or have yet to. i hope to reopen another for an older age group this summer when the weather is balmy and the light is golden, so stay tuned to the blog for that around June!
