truth. the next best thing to having your own baby is getting to be around them all the time. truth. it still isn’t easy to leave at the end of the session. and little Owen was so preciously perfect it made my depart bitter sweet. at almost 2 weeks old, he was the perfect little sleeper. i was mesmerized by his long toes and fingers, and how every little baby noise he was simply amazing {you know those sweet little semi-sleeping squeaks…sigh}. we had an awesome session and i just could not help but share a few this monday morning.

on a business note, my newborn casting call is currently full and i can’t thank those of you enough who have participated, or have yet to. i hope to reopen another for an older age group this summer when the weather is balmy and the light is golden, so stay tuned to the blog for that around June!

i had the privilege of photographing Emery and her parents on Saturday, and i think it might have been more fun for me than for them! this 6 month old on the move just dazzled me with her love for the camera and her willingness to pose. honestly, it was as if she were born to be a photographers child. i was spoiled by her laughter and eye contact. thank you, Miss Emery B. for being your magnificent self.

for the next several months i will be immersing myself in sweet newborn goodness. Liam is the very first newborn i have photographed this year, and i cannot tell you how much these little, tiny beings make me glow from the inside out. it was hard to resist not picking him up and taking him home…but as you can see, his Mom and dad are QUITE attached to him, and i can see why.

Despite the chilly Maine wind and a bit of snowy confection on the ground, I had an amazing family session yesterday.  These two brothers were simply darling, and after a month of bridal meetings and 2010 scheduling, it was nice to pick up my camera to capture these happy little boys. Pure sweetness!

a little over a week ago {yes, i am terribly behind on editing AND blogging…i am catching up though} i met up with another one of my first clients EVER. i feel continually blessed to watch my famlies grow and evolve…its hard to believe that so much can happen in a years time for us all!

it was a chilly day, but we braved the corn maze and pumpkin patches to grasp onto some of Fall’s last breaths.

i met up with the kenney family on a very chilly morning last weekend for their session. i was so happy to finally meet up with their new bundle of joy…miss. mckenna…i just love it when my famlies grow!

nothing is better in the fall here in maine than the leaves…i just love these shots of breven enjoying the magic.

as an  on location photographer, i have come to expect a certain amount of surprise and adventure. every time i close the door in my car and head down the road to my next session, there is still a lump of excited nervousness, and a hint of the unknown. but, my day with the McNally’s went above and beyond my greatest expectations: complete with a long road trip, vibrant foliage,  beautiful young families, and even some goats….

you may recognize of few of these kiddos, as this family was one of my very, very firsts when i began my photography business. . .it is always amazing to see how families grow and change over just a year….

oh blog readers…it is just more than divine to be back photographing moms and dads and kids and babies and the crazy perfect imperfectness that is the family unit. my fall family sessions started off last night with the brilliant Miss A who just turned the big 2 this week. the air was crisp, yet the sun was warm and magnificent.

2 year old just know how to express themselves….and Miss A’s laughter was infectious…i love this series

you can really tell this family has a great time together, no matter what they are doing…

living in Maine we know that there won’t be many more nights with warm light like this….

confession time.

i love my all my clients, but liam is probably my favorite.

i don’t think anyone will fault me for it, because goodness…look at him!

Honestly, he is probably the best behaved little baby I have ever met…he just makes me heart melt. It’s easy to see why he has stolen his Mom and Dad’s (and everyone’s) heart in his short time on this earth.

Emerson has grown so much since I saw him last year and he is the BIG three now….so that means he is an extra big boy.  I was invited to his house to meet and photograph him with amazing grandparents visiting all the way from Alabama. I just love photographing boys….they just keep up whatever they are doing…no time for posing…just playing. The rain held off just enough for a picnic outside.

and he ate the cookies first….who wouldn’t!

I was so touched with the amazing connection he had with his grandmother. . . it left me with such a warm feeling about this amazing family.
