Sharing some of the yummy album goodness that has arrived on my doorstep in the last week….

More and more couples are going with these gorgeous coffee table books that are hand made with linen or silk, and extra thick, custom designed pages. I love nothing more than giving a client something like this…an actually keepsake of their day that they will look at with family and friends for years to come. Albums were really popular until the advent of the digital age when the first request became, instead, the cd of full resolution images. While I see its value, this album is timeless and gets those images off of your computer and into a book where they can be frequently looked at and enjoyed. I am just as guilty as anyone with folder upon folder of images of my kids just tucked away on my hard drive. But, finally, after seeing all of these clients get the albums, I broke down and created my own albums which I will debut in the next couple of weeks!

“i knew i loved you before i met you
i think i dreamed you into life
i knew i loved you before i met you
i have been waiting all my life”

couldn’t resist sharing these awesome CD cases today…..

once upon a time, there was the most perfect wedding ever. and it was Jody and Jeremy’s….and their photographer lived happily ever after.

as you can already see the details of this wedding were extremely thought out and exquisite. the location, the Barn on Walnut Hill in Yarmouth, only added to the vintage, rustic charm of this wedding. Jody, along with her amazingly talented wedding planner Amanda of Simplicity Event Designs, molded every concept right down to the handmade, doggy and daughter featured, invitations.

the wedding party was made up of friends and family, and canine companions…so many amazing people who were just glowing with excitement for this couple to tie the knot. ( i am not sure Gracie the doggy glowed, but she was a VERY good girl all day).

did they put this mirror in here for me?

can you even believe this! Amanda really outdid herself on creativity.

there ceremony itself brought tears to my eyes as Jody’s daughter wrote a special letter to read aloud, and the couple not only exchanged their own vows and rings, but gave her a necklace to bind the family as one. melt….

Jeremy and Jody (and Gracie too)

the reception was perfectly done ( of course ) in a 200 year old barn laced with vintage accessories, photographs, and travel memorabilia from Jody and Jeremy’s adventures.

now THIS is brilliant. Love Cupcakes out of Portland, Maine set up their green and pink trailer in the courtyard next to the barn…as usual, i get too nervous/excited to eat at weddings so i did miss the cupcakes, but you can tell just looking at them that they are DELICIOUS!

the lights in the barn gave such a beautiful, warm glow for all of the dancing…

i would expect nothing less than a photo finish like this….

i wanted to wait until my big canvas came to debut William’s room. well, as life goes with a newborn at home….you get busy and you are buying diapers and wipes and caffeinated beverages to stay awake, and clothes because aparently you have given birth the the worlds fastest growing baby,  and the canvas waits until you can save up your pennies. and, after almost 12 weeks, i FINALLY hung it up today….i couldn’t be happier and now his room finally feels complete! this is no small 16 x 24….this is a 40 x 60 canvas, printed luxuriously in black and white.

see the crib… see this ROOM. isn’t it nice?!

he hasn’t slept in it yet.

i digress.

you would think as a photographer i have pictures hanging up everywhere, but the fact is….i have very few. the indicision gets me….i can’t pick a favorite…especially of the girls. i always want our ‘wall art’ to show who we really are as a family….but with so many it is hard to pick just which one. this year, my goal is to get one big canvas of each little person and one of them all together.

i challenge my clients to really go large with prints. as much as i love 5 x 7 and 8 x 10′s, these are NOT wall sized photographs by themselves. in William’s room i did a cluster of fun frames to display my…ummm…addiction to ETSY….i mean art.  this is a great way to show off lots of different sizes without isolating a single photograph by itself in an ocean of blank wall.

so here is to more art on my walls (and yours!), and a sleepy baby in this own room!
