Archive for November, 2011
as promised, i am releasing the new 2012/2013 wedding prices today. remember if you have already booked, then you are locked into the old pricing. if you have inquired or met with me about a wedding date and NOT paid a deposit, then you have NOT locked in the previous pricing.
i am really excited to present my new pricing for this coming season. after years of designing complicated packages, and custom arrangements, i have finally come up with a system to let everyone choose exactly what they want in their wedding packages. as you can see, there are HUGE savings for committing to items upon booking.
deposit:
the deposit will be half of the basic package + half of the cost of your custom add options.
example:
referral program: i am instituting a referral credit program starting today. if you refer me to anyone who books a wedding in 2012/2013, you will receive a $200 print credit towards the purchase of prints. if you refer more than one client, than you will get another $200 print credit, if you refer another client, you get another $200 print credit, if you do it AGAIN, you get another $200 print credit. all credits MUST be used within your gallery ordering time frame. you can even split the print credit with your friends who book so everyone wins! this is major. huge. awesome.
other chances to save: i know not everyone has the money to commit to the items they want to add early on. therefore, you can still receive a savings of %15 off the after booking price if you decide on those custom options. as long as you add the options on or before the 30 day mark before your wedding, you will receive the discount. this discount does NOT apply to the basic package…just custom options.
my daily mantra….courtesy of Jennifer’s fridge….
when i heard about Jen and Shane’s plans for their wedding, all i could think was that it was exactly like a Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine feature, only this is a bit different. those brides paid $10,000 for their venue location, and this was Jen and Shane’s back yard. the second you meet Jen, you can see why she is so loved by everyone who knows her…including Shane. and after looking all of her wedding photographs, i love how every photo seems to show her glow. that isn’t just her beauty (which she is…completely)…that is her personality too. i spent the morning getting ready with Jen, her bridesmaids and her pup Dudley.
as you can see, he was very stressed about the entire wedding ordeal…..
the ceremony took place right off their dock and one of Jen’s best friends officiated…it was so personal and down to earth…literally.

daily mantra: change is the essence of life; be willing to surrender who you are for what you could become…..
i have received emails this afternoon concerning the wedding package changes coming November 14th (please see this post for more info), and i wanted to follow up with some more details.
* clients who have already paid deposits are not effected by these price changes. you will still retain your current package and pricing (a la carte and otherwise).
* yes, the prices will be going up.
* if you book before November 14th you are still locked into old pricing (yay).
* yes, there really are only 5 dates left in the upcoming, regular wedding season. winter weddings are still available however.
* deposits: {this is probably my biggest change} starting November 14th, you will be required to pay half down on any chosen wedding package. you will receive signifcant discounts for choosing and paying for what you want your package to contain (digital files, albums, parent albums, etc) if you pay for them upfront. the remaining half will not be due until 30 days before your wedding date. if you book BEFORE the 14th of November, $500 will still hold your date. i have several meetings set up in the next 10 days and feel that it would be unfair to just throw that onto people last minute.
* yep, i will be listing all new price changes, up front, on the blog, front and center, no “contact me for more pricing info” shenanigans (i love that word)….i like to be upfront with pricing, and i don’t see any reason to hide it. there will also be links to the new contract so you can view that as well.
* travel fees for weddings: there will still be no travel fees for weddings in Maine.
* travel fees for engagement sessions: travel fees for engagement sessions depend on how far it is from my home. (if you are within 40 miles of the Rumford/Mexico area, than it is included). there are so many gorgeous places for photographs here in Western Maine, and after spending the last 4 years traveling all over the state (and in other states all the way to the west coast), i can honestly say that you will not be disappointed when you step out of your car.
* referral program: i am instituting a referral credit program starting November 14th. if you refer me to anyone who books a wedding in 2012/2013, you will receive a $200 print credit towards the purchase of prints. if you refer more than one client, than you will get another $200 print credit, if you refer another client, you get another $200 print credit, if you do it AGAIN, you get another $200 print credit. all credits MUST be used within your gallery ordering time frame. you can even split the print credit with your friends who book so everyone wins! this is major. huge. awesome.
{this credit is not redeemable for a cash value, and it must be used on prints only (NOT albums, canvas, or any other product). this referral credit is good for clients who book and pay their deposit AFTER November 14th}
* custom packages: in the past i have done custom packages but my new pricing is going to be so amazingly amazing (i did that on purpose), that you will be able to put whatever you want in your package, right up front, and get a great deal. even if you can’t pay for it up front, and have to wait until after the wedding, those items will still be able to be added (just not at the discounted price). it is custom packaging for everyone, and i am jump up and down on my bed (even though i just made it) happy about it.
….xoxox amanda….
daily mantra: the most important thing in life is family. there are days when you love them, and others you don’t. but, in the end, the are the people you always come home to. sometimes its the family you are born into, and sometimes its the family you make for yourself….
i am taking a break from editing weddings this week to complete my family sessions and had to share a few from the Baker Family. These girls were so fun and full of energy and you can tell the addition of their little brother just added a great element to all the love they have to give.
2012 wedding prices: effective date November 14, 2011
all prices/policies for 2012 will be changing effective November 14th. any weddings booked on or after that date are subject to new pricing and policies. if you have already booked and paid your deposit for a 2012 wedding, you will still retain the previous pricing.
2012 wedding availability:
for the main wedding season the following months still have availability…
June: 2 openings
July: 1 opening
August: 2 openings
engagement/couple/maternity sessions: effective date November 14, 2011
the cost for an engagement/couple sessions will also be changing. engagement sessions will be an add on option for all but the top wedding package (which will include the session as part of the price). travel will be an additional cost for everyone.
family/children sessions: booking and pricing announced May 1, 2012.
i have had a lot of inquiries for family sessions for 2012. with the arrival of our little one this coming spring, i will not be traveling for family sessions this year. i have some super fun ideas in the works for this coming season, but they will be close to home. all pricing will be completely package based, and (i know change is scary) can honestly say, this move to package pricing will work very much in the clients favor. this pricing change does not effect my baby plan clients.
newborn sessions:
i will not be taking on any newborn clients in 2012 that are not part of a my baby plan.
starting January 1st, 2012:
i will be taking an extended internet vacation until March. i will still be very much available by phone and email, and of course, still working.
xoxox, amanda.
