this summer has been a wedding photographers dream. beautiful weather, clear skies, warm, sunny…couldn’t ask for more. last Saturday i awoke to the pink hue of the sun rising up over the foothills, and a feeling that Jack and Lisa would be happy to see the same thing. i met jack over 4 years ago when we first moved to this little western Maine town, and was instantly drawn to his story telling ability and his sense of humor. and when i met Lisa over a year ago i knew exactly why Jack picked her to be his wife. fun loving, warm, and funny, Lisa is a perfect match and i felt that right away.
Lisa’s dress reminded me of every wedding dress i ever dreamed of as a little girl…just like Cinderella’s….
as a photographer, these big churches can be a strategic challenge as far as light and covering the immense space, but Saint John the Baptist Church in Brunswick had a mix of white and yellow light streaming in from the stained glass windows and warm candle light. magical…
Lisa and Jack’s reception was probably the most fun I have ever had. lots of dancing, laughing, fun, and special moments.
it must be said…Jack’s mom is a pretty smooth dancer…
one of the guests at the wedding asked me if i ever get tired of shooting and seeing ceremonies in general. and i answered…emphatically, respectfully….NO WAY. every wedding, every couple, ever moment is completely unique and new to me. it never gets old or loses its feeling of emotion…ever. and one thing that really touched me about Jack and Lisa’s wedding was the sense of family and friend connection. everyone there had a unique sense of love for the couple, and a binding unity…![]()
daily mantra:
we breathe. we pulse. we regenerate. our hearts beat. our minds create. our souls ingest. thirty-seven seconds, well used, is a lifetime.
