daily mantra: here’s some people in this world who you can just love and love and love no matter what….{john.green}

i met up with this amazing little one and her family in Freeport on perhaps the most gorgeous shooting day of the season. i was so amazed by Brooke and her beautiful, spunky spirit.

sigh….i love living in Maine…have i said that before?

i met up with the Caruso family in early July to capture their amazing boys before the arrival of their newest little one. it is always a treat for me to photograph boys, as we are an all girl household {minus my sweet hubby…even the cats are girls} and boys just have a different type of energy, and are a whole lot of fun.

these were taken in a truly amazing little town in Maine called Sorrento…i have been so blessed to discover Maine through my clients, and this is definitely a place i would love to return.

this summer has been a wedding photographers dream. beautiful weather, clear skies, warm, sunny…couldn’t ask for more. last Saturday i awoke to the pink hue of the sun rising up over the foothills, and a feeling that Jack and Lisa would be happy to see the same thing. i met jack over 4 years ago when we first moved to this little western Maine town, and was instantly drawn to his story telling ability and his sense of humor. and when i met Lisa over a year ago i knew exactly why Jack picked her to be his wife. fun loving, warm, and funny, Lisa is a perfect match and i felt that right away.

Lisa’s dress reminded me of every wedding dress i ever dreamed of as a little girl…just like Cinderella’s….

as a photographer, these big churches can be a strategic challenge as far as light and covering the immense space, but Saint John the Baptist Church in Brunswick  had a mix of white and yellow light streaming in from the stained glass windows and warm candle light. magical…

Lisa and Jack’s reception was probably the most fun I have ever had. lots of dancing, laughing, fun, and special moments.

it must be said…Jack’s mom is a pretty smooth dancer…

one of the guests at the wedding asked me if i ever get tired of shooting and seeing ceremonies in general. and i answered…emphatically, respectfully….NO WAY. every wedding, every couple, ever moment is completely unique and new to me. it never gets old or loses its feeling of emotion…ever. and one thing that really touched me about Jack and Lisa’s wedding was the sense of family and friend connection. everyone there had a unique sense of love for the couple, and a binding unity…

daily mantra:
we breathe. we pulse. we regenerate. our hearts beat. our minds create. our souls ingest. thirty-seven seconds, well used, is a lifetime.

i feel so blessed to have been Liam’s photographer since, well…the beginning, and to photograph him to mark his one year birthday was just ice cream on the cake. this little man embodies such an amazing spirit of joy…just being around him will bring a smile to your face. the first year has marked so many changes for this little man, and i can’t wait to see what is next for him.

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”
