dear Katie and Mikki…

i love obnoxiously loud laughter.

i love that you got that one thing; that one ridiculous trait…from me.

i love that i got it from my mom.

i love it that you snort during your laughing.

i love that you barely have time to take a breath when you laugh.

i love that, if i am very still, and you two are in your bedroom, sometimes i can feel your laughter vibrating through the walls of our little home.

i love that talking about farts make you laugh.

i love that when i see a photograph of you laughing, i can hear it, even if you are sleeping all snug in your beds at night; quiet as church mice…peaceful as the silent flicker of the stars in the sky.
