Daily Mantra: “Children learn to smile from their parents”

So…even though Michael and I have gray hair, 2 crazy daughters, and full time jobs, we thought it would be the best idea in the whole wide world if we went back to school to further our educations. I mean…sersiously, we just didn’t think we were busy enough…and we really wanted to add to our college loan debt like any real American aspires to do. This has meant being away from home 4 nights out of the week, missing out on the dinner and night time rituals, and most of all…sanity. This was Michael’s night, so the girls and I decided we would do something special for him while he was gone…

a clothes line of {love} if you will…

I had a picture of him and Mikki printed up through WHCC and mounted for his office and stung it up on the line. My husband is an avid fisherman (even though I have seen him actually catch very few…you know how that is) so Mikki thought a fish would be the perfect addition…

Only a few more credit hours, right?
We will make it…

Yes, you will make it, and you will be so proud of yourselves!! What a sweet thing to do. I would cry if I walked in to that.
That is so sweet!! I may have to steal that idea!
Oh man–what a great thing to come home to!! I admire you guys for continuing your education when you are in the thick of life. Good for you!

Hi Mandy!
This idea is so stinkin sweet, I can imagine all the giggles involved as you plotted and created! It may be crazy, but your girls certainly are getting a sense of fun with you anyway!
Mandy…I needed to read that Daily Mantra today! I have had one of those days…so it was a good reminder to me that I need to keep smiling to make sure my kids do.
Good for you guys for going back to school! We are just finishing up an 8 year stint, so I can relate…And that “dad clothes line of love” is simply adorable! What a cute idea! I bet he just loved it.
This is the sweetest idea ever! You are so dang creative, you just blow me away. I think it’s amazing that you and Mike are going back to school… I want to SO BADLY to get a business degree but I just don’t have the time, money, or a close enough campus to be able to juggle it with miss K still being at home most of the time with me. I am definitely going to look into it in two years when she starts Kindergarten though!
I am sure this made him very happy when he got home,. Even if it seems like the hardest thing in the world right now you both are very very smart to continure your education. Yay for both of you and keep on keeping on. Now I am sounding like a mother which BTW I am old enough to be yours.
I love your clothes line of love and I’m sure Daddy was touched when he got home! Wow y’all really are busy!
These are awesome pictures, and the clothesline of love is such a fantastic idea! Congratulations on your being in school! Education is just never, ever, a waste, and just your being in school teaches your children so much about love of learning! Thank you, Mandy, for your kind words on my blog. . . . this means more to me than you can know! And Stephen King! You’ve lived down the block from him??????????? I’m fascinated by him and tried to get my daughter to pick up a rock for me from Bangor Maine when she was on a school trip there. . . . but then she lost it
What a sweet thing to do, I bet it put a huge smile on his face! Cute shots to remember it by also!
