Daily Mantra: “Photography is a way of feel, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”

-Aaron Siskind

Some of you may remember these faces for early spring of this year. If you do, you will really notice how much they have grown in such a short time. I headed out early in the morning to meet this family at Gilsland Farm Wildlife Center on Saturday. They day was gray, but the company was warm and we set out to roam the fields and trails of the park. We ran into profusely pooping turkeys, and a few raccoon-sized squirrels…we got briefly lost (and then found), and managed to get some great photos along the way. Its kind of funny how the people you photograph become an extension of your art, but mostly, an extension of your heart. I feel so close to this family…as I sit and look at their photos, I feel so fortunate that I have met them, and been even a small part of their amazing lives.

So for your little elephant…where did you get the brush, or did you make it? I really like that simplicity and am looking for brushes like that. That little girl is the cutest little thing, love those two little flips.

They are all so beautiful and I really love your journaling. That is one of the things I love most about photography is all the great people you can meet.

WOW, I DO remember these guys! They have grown a TON! I love your quote about photographs… that’s exactly how I feel and I always try to tell my family that when they protest about me taking yet ANOTHER picture of them. I need to write that down. :)

Gorgeous photos! I love the first one.

Beautiful, Mandy! Love their creamy skin. Did you see the black woodchucks this time? I got lost on those field trails too. But I just love how so many of the trails are just mowed swaths through the wildflower fields. Tomorrow (if the weather is nice) I’m headed to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay.

Wonderful shots. Love that last one – such yummy bokeh! And such a sweet expression, too.

And now what’s up with you? Yesterday your profile said you were A. Burse! Just how many profiles do you have, lol?

Forgot to say that your quote for today is beautiful. I’m going to need to use that one one of these days.

I love the crispness of their white clothing against the perfect skin tones!
