Daily Mantra: “Babies are such a nice way to start people.” -Don Herold

I haven’t talked about faith at all this week. Its been in my thoughts. I was raised Methodist…but never discouraged from trying new things…I think my mom has always hoped that I believe in God. I do, but I think we have a semi dysfunctional relationship. Does that sound weird? I think it must. We talk often…our duologue is sometimes happy and sometimes sad, and sometimes unresponsive.

Faith comes in many forms. For me, I see faith in the family I have created with my darling, Michael. I see our girls growing and changing and coming into themselves….I have faith in my girls. I don’t need them to go on to be ivy league overachievers or even got to college for that matter…my faith in them encompasses them being genuinely caring people, and having genuine compassion for others.

Sharon Faulk - Nice post. Adorable photo.

bobbi - It doesn't sound weird at all, I am sure most people can relate if they are honest with themselves. Beautiful photo...and 3 sassions in one day? You go girl I did two in one weekend and I am spent.

Cindi - Love your honesty!! I don't think you have a dysfunctional relationship with God at all. He wants raw honesty about what we think and feel and, in my opinion, what matters is that you do bring your heart to Him and tell Him all of what you're feling. I think he craves a relationship with His children just like we do. It has been the best having kids because it gives me a glipse of the kind of perfect love God has for me!
Hugs!

Jen - Very cute! I just love your pping!

Amy - Love this, as usual. That quote always makes me smile. Yesterday's photo is a real treasure, but I see you've already decided that - I noticed it in your sidebar.

redsie - Great journaling and great pic - love the hat!!

Mom2drew - Your journaling is honest and real, something I totally get and appreciate. Great conversion to your photo too.

Jaime - beautiful! I am in awe of your ability to create a beautiful photo and your ability to make it greater in PS. please teach ME!

amy - Such a sweet shot! I love what you said too, I fully agree that I'd love to have my girls grow up to be happy, caring, and compassionate. Beautiful!

Angela - What a cute photo with the little hat! Wonderful journaling! Every day you post a very thought provoking, meaningful quote. You wouldn't pick these quotes if they didn't "speak" to you in some way or reflect your beliefs and what you have faith in. They're all talking about the Big Questions, what's important, what's meaningful, what's valued. . . to me, that's faith!

Becky (finsup) - Oh my gosh, and I thought I wanted to squish her when I saw her in yesterday's post! Faith is such a personal journey, and I personally don't think God cares which church we go to, or even if. It's all about love, baby! In my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary. :-)
And good for you with three sessions today? Does the idea of trying senior photos appeal to you at all? I bet some of my son's friends would love your funky style.

Leah - wow!! 3 sessions today!! i'm glad to see you doing this!!! you have a wonderful eye!!! :) happy for YOU!

Nicole - It's wonderful to have faith in our children. they are the keepers of our world.

Chell - Love the journaling. That photo is so sweet.

Kristen - Your journaling and photo are both beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

Debbi - Very touching, honest journaling. I share some of your same comments about my dialogue withe God. It's definitely an ever-changing relationship for me. I think that comes with being a busy, young Mom. I also think that watching my girls grow up gives me faith in our future generations. So much is said about "kids today" - but some of us have really terrific kids that will take care of our nations, world, etc. Makes you proud, huh? Okay - sorry for the rambling comment!
