Daily Mantra: “While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.” -Angela Schwindt
Mikki….”mom, look at this leaf”
Mom…”wow…that is neat”
Mikki…”its the season, you know?”
Mom…”for what?”
Mikki….”for leaves…geesh mom.”
Mom…”what…fall is over…its spring”
Mikki…”its the season to grow…”
Mom…”Who is growing? No one is allowed to grow under my watch.” (giggle)
Mikki…”you can’t stop it mom, it just is”
Mom…”oh, right”
Note to self: Motherhood is fleeting. Embrace little, delicious moments.

What a sweet memory this picture and conversation will be.
What a fun conversation. I like the leaf covering the eye, would also like to see this one in one of your great vintage conversions;)
Fantastic photo! I love the b&w conversion, and the composition of this! And what sweet, tender, poetic journaling!
Love this shot and your pping! And I should I took almost the exact same shot of Lilia today.
beautiful photos. and i love the conversation. so insightful and yet so innocent. “you can’t stop it mom, it just is”~~something we all should remember daily.
Love this and the little conversation to go with it. I recently foudn this quote and I love it!! I was planning on using it with my ds, darn!!
Beautiful texture in the photo with the leaf and her hat. Love your b/w too. You know, Mandy, at that age I often heard the unspoken “Duh!” at the end of my kids’ sentences. I’m thinking that might have been going on here too.:-) (That unspoken word gets a little nastier when they hit the pre-teens, but as long as it remains in their heads and doesn’t come out of their mouths we’re good.)
I LOVE that quote! SO true. Micki is just too wise for her age, you know that? You are going to be IN for it when she gets a little older!
Love your mantra today; the conversation with your daughter could easily be another one. She is a very perceptive little girl.
love the quote…love the pic..love the journaling!..great job as usual!
I squim with delight each time I get to see one of your photos! Your photography is TRULY art! People try their whole lives to make photography art, and convince themselves that it is are…but you are one of the few whose photography IS art!
Cheers,
