Daily Mantra: “Music is what feelings sound like.”

Ethandaddy

This is my absolute favorite photo from my first photo session on Sunday. “E” and his mom and dad were just brilliant. E has been through so so much in his short 6 years of life, more than I could ever imagine. He is autistic, and has a wide range of other issues he is constantly battling every day, along with the bravery and amazing love of his parents.   I have taken a lot of photos this past year. This one here…this photo…I am most proud of. I would really like to thank E and his parents for a wonderful time, and I cannot wait to show you the rest of your photos.

Daily Mantra: “Babies are such a nice way to start people.” -Don Herold

I haven’t talked about faith at all this week. Its been in my thoughts. I was raised Methodist…but never discouraged from trying new things…I think my mom has always hoped that I believe in God. I do, but I think we have a semi dysfunctional relationship. Does that sound weird? I think it must. We talk often…our duologue is sometimes happy and sometimes sad, and sometimes unresponsive.

Faith comes in many forms. For me, I see faith in the family I have created with my darling, Michael. I see our girls growing and changing and coming into themselves….I have faith in my girls. I don’t need them to go on to be ivy league overachievers or even got to college for that matter…my faith in them encompasses them being genuinely caring people, and having genuine compassion for others.

Mikki….”mom, look at this leaf”

Mom…”wow…that is neat”

Mikki…”its the season, you know?”

Mom…”for what?”

Mikki….”for leaves…geesh mom.”

Mom…”what…fall is over…its spring”

Mikki…”its the season to grow…”

Mom…”Who is growing? No one is allowed to grow under my watch.” (giggle)

Mikki…”you can’t stop it mom, it just is”

Mom…”oh, right”

Note to self: Motherhood is fleeting. Embrace little, delicious moments.
